Eric McKibben graduated from high school in Walla Walla and then earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA. He then worked for ten years in Seattle in the telecommunications industry, gaining valuable experience in four companies ranging from small startups to corporate giants. During this time period, he also earned an MBA at Seattle University.
During college summer vacations, Eric worked at the family vineyard in Waitsburg, WA, and gained extensive knowledge in vineyard planting and management.
In 2003, Eric, wife Jeanette, and their two children returned to Walla Walla. Eric has now become an active partner in Amavi Cellars, Pepper Bridge Winery and the family's vineyard operations.
"I'm excited to be back in Walla Walla and in the wine industry at what seems to be the cusp of tremendous growth," Eric says. "My friends and former coworkers consider it a 'dream job' and chided me for not returning sooner. My return to the wine industry thus far has been a busy and rewarding experience and I look forward to a lifetime of learning about wine."
