2011 Trine

« Back

The aromatics of our 2011 Trine greet you with dark, brooding notes of red cherries, raspberries, and currants. The fruits dance on the palate with an herbaceous essence of celery leaves, heightened by an acidity reminiscent of orange zest. Mouthwatering and structured, the finish leaves you not only with firm tannins but also a minerality which is characteristic of the Walla Walla Valley.

From beginning to end, this was a cool year. The Walla Walla Valley experienced no 100-degree days for the first time in well over a decade. Despite the cooler weather, our vineyards were still able to reach full ripening, with harvest occurring approximately three weeks late. The longer hang time led to layered, nuanced flavors with vibrancy and natural balance.

Awards & Accolades
93 pts, Wine & Spirits: "Dark, black and mineral, this opaque wine has the restraint of the 2011 vintage. The flavors - coffee, blackberry, plum, and tobacco - are tarry and dense, the tannins finely etched and lifted by a crisp acidity. A coal-like mineral note at the core will anchor its cellar life. Then decant it for a steak."
